Programs

HOME now has a vast array of services to assist in bridging the gap.

Resources

Our knowledge of available resources is now extensive. Time is not wasted and we are aware of area jobs, employers who are currently hiring, government assistance programs. We also provide transportation thru the kindness of HOME volunteers or our city bus for which we provide daily passes in order for our friends to take the necessary steps in obtaining a better life.

Work A Day—Pay A Day Program

We utilize this program to encourage those who are unsheltered to make the first of life changing steps. It is also utilized during times for which no beds are available and Prosperity Point or The Haven. We have found this program to be successful and beneficial! For more information, please feel free to message us!

The Haven

The Haven is the 3rd and latest division of HOME which shelters women and children on a short-term basis. Currently, the time frame concerned necessary is up to 3 months. We work with those we term as our friends on an individual one-on-one basis to assist in bridging the gap to permanent housing.

The Haven provides job resources, clothing, food, and all basic essentials. Opportunities also provide there include but not limited to are; classes in food preparation, money management, devotional times, support groups, resume building, and transportation. We, here at HOME, want these women to leave not only be sheltered from the elements but to leave with sound life-changing management skills.

Prosperity Point

Prosperity Point, which is the 2nd division developed by HOME, is a beautiful tiny home community nestled into the countryside. The tranquil country setting serves to not only shelter those who are homeless but to give them an opportunity to recharge their spirit.

When one of our friends arrives in the program, they are provided with food, clothing, toiletries and all basic necessities of life as most who have been living on the street arrive to use with basically the clothes on their backs. Once settled, they are provided with job resources and transportation services which allow them to begin building a better life. Our friends are eligible to stay at Prosperity Point for up to six months though some may require less time. It is there they will learn money management, be assisted with setting up bank accounts, counseling, love, and encouragement.

Prosperity Point is truly a community effort as the land came as a donation from McMinnville City Government. Four of the Tiny Homes were a donation by the Breakfast and Noon Rotary, The other 4 homes were donated by Centertown United Methodist, Liberty Presbyterian Parrish of Warren County, the Galligan’s, and Central Church of Christ.

The community rallied behind the project, and that is just what it is, a community project. Lowe’s has also been a great community partner in a labor of love.

Home Street Ministry

The initial arm of HOME is the street ministry which still continues today. It is this division where care packages of food, toiletries, blankets and supplies are delivered to those living outside. It is also in this division that the opportunity to shower is offered thru the kindness of First United Methodist Church who allows us to use their facilities. During this time, we occasionally offer hair cuts as well. While there, we spend time to understand the root cause of what brought them to this unsheltered state. More than the food we offer, we offer HOPE. We are proof that someone does in fact care!

Donate Funds

Every dollar donated is used in ways that will profoundly affect a life! Can you imagine living in a car, a tent or under a bridge and then be taken into a warm and dry shelter stocked with food? That is how our money is used! That is our sole mission. We are a 501C3 and all donations are tax deductible.
