Success Stories

We, here at HOME, are protective of the identity of those we serve. The names in the stories below have been changed to protect his or her identity.

John had lived the woods for years. A large majority of that time was spent without so much as a tent for shelter. John had no family and suffered from alcoholism along with a learning disability.. Through the Grace of God and much love and encouragement, HOME assisted John in finding a long term rehab that was a perfect fit. He is now a kitchen manager, van driver and leader in that organization!

Sara was given over to foster care at an early age. Upon turning 18, she returned back to McMinnville looking for her birth family. McMinnville City Police found Sara sitting on a sidewalk with a grocery sack of belongings. Sadly, Sara was no more wanted by her family at age 18 than she was at 10. HOME volunteers showered her with love and assisted Sara back home, 4 hours away, to her foster mother who desperately wanted her to come back home.

Sam, a stroke victim, found himself living in an abandoned house with no electricity or running water. A caring neighbor noticed his plight and contacted HOME. Volunteers immediately converged to help Sam and his aging dog by providing food and shelter. Sam now lives in his own apartment and is thriving!

For all of these stories and so many, many more, To GOD Be The Glory… GREAT Things HE Has Done!
